Founded in 2016, jr.abel has a single goal of creating pleasant, honest and attainable Australian made objects. Joshua Abel is an industrial designer who has worked in a variety of fields for over 10 years, including public art, graphic and interior design. Joshua uses his broad experience to create a unique aesthetic that is carried through all his products. This design philosophy is based on the use of simple geometric elements designed to express their materials and manner with which they are made.
jr.abel produces a diverse range of furniture, lighting and accessories, all of which are are handmade in South East Queensland by local craftspeople.
jr.abel is the industrial design arm of The Artificial, a multidisciplinary design studio formed in 2013 by Joshua Abel and architect Salvador Farrajota that allows them explore to their shared design vision on architectural and interior design projects.
